Am I the right age for orthodontics?

Adults now make up nearly 25% of orthodontic patients. If you’re concerned about your smile, give us a call and we’ll help determine if orthodontics is appropriate for you.

For younger patients, it’s important to note that the American Association of Orthodontist recommends an initial evaluation at age 7. New treatment techniques provide significant benefits-especially in jaw irregularities-for patients seven to eleven years old and may prevent certain conditions from getting worse.

Treatment at these early stages can produce results not possible once jaw and face bones have finished growing. Full orthodontic treatment generally begins after all permanent teeth are in place, usually around age 12 to 13.
